Smooth Fusion's use of

Development Partners

At Smooth Fusion, our fulltime in-house team manages all development work. In order to have an elastic development pool, we sometimes supplement our internal development team with select development partners. Our development partners are a mix of freelancers and other contract resources, many of whom are former fulltime Smooth Fusion employees who now work as freelancers.

We do not seek out low-cost development resources. Often our development partners have a higher cost to Smooth Fusion than our internal team. We make the decision to utilize freelancers and other contract resources based on appropriateness for the tasks, and sometimes due to schedule when our internal team is unable to meet a required deadline.

All development partners are under NDA and receive training on our systems, processes, and coding standards. All tasks that go to development partners are prepared by our solution architects, and the work is reviewed before it is accepted into the project. And, of course, our quality assurance testing process is the same, regardless of the resources utilized.

As a Smooth Fusion customer, you are in control of how we utilize our development partners. If you have preferences or requirements when it comes to our choice of development resources, you may direct us to implement one of the following restrictions.

Backend Restricted to U.S.-based Resources. You may choose to have backend development of your projects restricted to U.S.-based resources. Under this restriction, development partners from outside the U.S. may be involved in front-end web development.

All Work Restricted to U.S.-based Resources. You may choose to have all development work (frontend and backend) restricted to U.S.-based resources.

No Use of Development Partners. You may choose to have all development work (frontend and backend) restricted to only internal Smooth Fusion employees.

Note that our process includes matching development tasks to appropriate resources, considering skillsets and timelines. Restricting resource options may affect the timeline.

If you would like to opt into one of these restrictions, or if you have questions about our development partners, please contact your account manager.
