iCEV
Custom Online Learning Platform for Career and Technical Education
Smooth Fusion worked with CEV Multimedia to create iCEV, a custom online learning platform for delivering Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses to high schools and universities nationwide. The system allows instructors to customize course playlists, integrates with Clever and ClassLink for seamless login and rostering, and uses Learnosity to power engaging assessments and industry certification exams.
The Challenge
CEV needed a custom Learning Management System (LMS) capable of delivering a wide range of CTE content, supporting multiple integration points, and providing a seamless experience for both teachers and students. Key requirements included:
- Support for seven CTE subject areas
- Flexible course playlist creation and customization for instructors
- Single sign-on (SSO) and automatic rostering through Clever and ClassLink
- A robust assessment engine for exams and interactive activities
- Integration with other LMS platforms via thin common cartridge and LTI links
- A secure, scalable way to deliver CEV’s proprietary industry certification exams
The Solution
The new iCEV platform includes:
- Custom LMS offering seven CTE subject areas
- Instructor tools to select and customize course playlists
- SSO and automatic rostering through Clever and ClassLink
- Learnosity-powered assessments with video, interactive, and printed materials
- LTI and thin common cartridge integration for use within other LMS platforms
- Industry certification delivery, enabling CEV to manage and score its own exams
The Result
The iCEV platform now serves high schools and universities across the country, providing a flexible and engaging way to deliver CTE curriculum. Teachers have more control over their courses, students enjoy a streamlined login and learning experience, and CEV can efficiently deliver both instruction and certification exams through a single, scalable system.
